Pengalaman sebagai pelajar Fesyen (Ijazah Seni Reka Fesyen : UiTM) AD246 (Semester 2)

Assalamua'laikum and hai!

Wow times sure flies- ingat dulu, how nerve wrecking & i was so excited when received my letter from UiTM and now dah masuk second year as Fashion student. Cepatnya masa berlalu! Next year dah masuk 23 years old. Seriously? Can we turn back the times? No? Hmm okay. 

Chill, cut all the craps of being sad and moody- no bukan sebab we only live once, but technically the only person who can always be grumpy and emotional is me- syeer okay? Lol. Eh tak joke je. I'm not that depressed-kinda-person tapi jenis kuat befikir all the bad possibilities might happen even hanya kerana people won't reply to my whatsapp or my calls. Ok i'm not clingy. Noted that :p 

Okay back to the mainnnnn topic- so post kali ni akan cerita a bit of my second semester as student yang ambil fashion in degree. So kepada yang tak baca lagi my 2 previous post about how i manage to got in and semester 1 pergilah baca- if u're interested la kan. Okay? If, i was asked how my second sem- my answer would be- Semester of Hell *insert serious face*. Serious tak tipu dugaan dia ya Allah  besar gila- dengan due date assessment sangat dekat takda gap lepastu bulan puasa pulak. Wow can you imagine? Gila ok perjalanan dari mawar nak ke Fakulti *nangis* I wish, Art student dapat duduk Seroja balik sobs. Ok untuk semester ni, i took like 9 subject. 4 major, 2 foundation and 2 electives (minor) and one English. 

Okay kita start with major subject of fashion & design :)

1. FES 450 MALAY TRADITIONAL COSTUMES

 Subject ni akan diajar oleh Dr Asliza- tapi tak taulah kalau after ni lecturer lain yang take over.      Macam haritu kiteorang punya assignment kena buat baju kurung puteri perak. Baju tu lebih kurang Baju kurung cekak musang dipakaikan dengan seluar. Buat baju ni sebenarnya senang je tapi disebabkan pattern tak siap and sangat load so sebab tu kiteorg last minute rushing but nasib baiksempat siap awal and focus on design. macam last sem ada half of my classmates yang dah ambil and diorang kena buat Baju kurung riau- which is lebih kurang je tapi dorang tak buat seluar but kain. Tak sempat nak ambil gambar and baju pun diorang tak pulangkan lagi uhuhu

2. FES 452 FASHON DESIGN 2

Untuk kelas ni, dia berkain dengan sem leas sebab ni kira mcam major assessment. Kalau tak lepas Design kelas kira tak boleh ambil subject ni. Untuk sem ni kiteorang kena jahit and design baju berdasarkan jenis fabrics and transform into shape. And this semester- Encik Anas jugak yang takover kelas ni. Which is not that bad sebab dah faham sangat apa yang dia nak huhu. And macam biasa kena buat sketches berpuluh untuk innovate idea. And paling penting kena ada inspiration. So basically i chose camera as my inspiration and gladly dia approved lol- And honestly sangat happy sebab sem ni kira macam 90% design sendiri tanpa diubah oleh Encik Anas kuikui but nak buat dia nangis jugaklah sebab kiteorang kena pilih corak stripes and ken samakan jalur dalam design kiteaorang. Believe or not- i i remake my top third times sebab nak sama kan jalur and stress dia tk ayang cakaplah. Urghh. But at the end Alhamdulillah all went well :)

3 days before assessment baru sibuk nak potong kain ayooo

Finally after nangis dekat jamban and tidur 2 jam je for 2 weeks

Look at how excited am i infront of the lecturer- padahal jantung rasa macam nak mati.

3. FES 454 PATTERN MANIPULATION

Okay, cerita pasal subject ni buat kecut sebab sem ni kena tegur dengan Dr saemah sebab jahit sample tak kemas and my portfolio is so ugly. yeap end up cryin like baby after assessment lol. But Alhamdulillah the result is not like what i'm expected it would be. Sem kali ni kiteorang kena jahit 3 sample which is sleeveless blouse (kotak2 ok korang rasa???) , skirt (with zip at the back and yoke) and lastly asemmetry dress- which is freakin hard with those lining urghhh. I hate pattern classes *sobs nah kiddin* Sorry takde gambar sebab buruk lololol

4. FES 456 FASHION ILLUSTRATION

Subject ni korang kena lepas yang semester 1 punya. Basially sama je kena buat 5 project. Honestly sem ni banyak cedera sebab kena cutter which the reason tangan banyak parut lol. But still, it worth, sebab i got good result with this subject! kalau sem lepas Prof Shook ajar but this sem Encik Wazir took over- which is great sebab dia pun jenis banyak bercerita. And dia suka pegi makan so kiteorang banyak waktu rehat lelagi bila cafe AD dah buka balik this semester!

5. Foundation - FND 460 DRAWING 2

Yang ni pun sambungan foundation semester lepas, so kalau tak pass Drawing 1 korang tak boleh amek this class. Kalau sem lepas banyak main with shape and 3D byt this semester korang akan main with body figure and colour technique using watercolour, charcoal, pencil, acrylic and colour pencil. Honestly not a fan of this class and gladly no more foundation class after this! hihi Last project kena buat atas canvas 10' x 10' pop art. Which is menangis nak buat hahaha. But it was fun!

6. Foundation ATH 475 ISLAMIC ART

kalau sem leaps ada 2 liberal paper untuk foundation but gladly this semester just ada 1 je yeay! Sebenarnya tak target pun kelas ni dapat good result even diri ni suka theory things and glad lah usaha tido lambat a few days before exam tu membuahkan hasil yehuu! This subject required korang form a group and make a video & presentation which is fun. Mine was the funniest i think sbb kiteorg buat parody about mesopotamia using rap song . I feel stupid bila ingat balik hahaha

7.  Electives - EAD 471 FUNDAMENTAL OF DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Actually kelas ni tak susah pun but yeah it required org pergi outdoor ambil gambar je. Ok lah not bad, tak  pressure sangt pun tehee.

8) ELECTIVES - ISLAMIC CALLIGRAPHY

Nothing much about this class actually, kelas ni kena buat tulisan khat which is okay but i failed to make it best out pf me. tak fail ok cuma a bit frustrated with my own management so kira dpat B je for this class. But overall ok lah. not bad, it was fun. For those yg nak ambil this for electives ok sbb tak guna banyak duit luls.

9) ELC 500 (ENGLISH CLASS)

Alaa kena explain ke? Hahaha malas lah, but yeah, english cass so yeah korang kena learnt english uhuhu. (dah malas nak ytpe actually)

So basically, this all subject that i learn when i'm in semester 2! Sekarang dah Semester 3, second year of degree! Alhamdulillah sem lepas punya result ok lah . Gonna target dekan this em- wish me luck guys! This sem gonna be lot of busier sbb kena handle Junior Fashon show and Degree Fashion Show. Excited and thrilled but a bit nervous exactly! And the next post akan update pasal trip to PD, fashion depatment punya trip. Kat situ banyak buat aktiviti best and Bollywood as out  dinner theme. Stay tuned! Pengalaman sebagai pelajar Fesyen (Ijazah Seni Reka Fesyen : UiTM) AD246 (Semester 1)

As i promised before in my previous post regarding the procedure bila interview untuk art student in Fashion and Design. Basically semua course art will experiences the same things included for Diploma too. So yeah, i know lots of people were curious of what i had learnt through my semester. So i took 9 subject for this semester while ada yang ambil 10 or 11 inluded Kesatria. Like for me, i can transfered some of my credit hours from my Diploma years so adalah dalam 5 subject yang tak payah ambil. This semester ada 3 liberal and 1 electives- 2 from foundation arts and other one from fashion which is "History of fashion"Yang lain semua technical works that required you guys pergi bengkel.

Untuk major subject which ada 5 subject, fashion figure, pattern making, body covering, history of costumes, and fashion CAD. Okay i will explain each of this 5 core subject :)

Fashion figure

Selalunya, Prof Shook akan take over first sem so yes you will meet him and dia tersangatlah baik and penyayang. My fav lines or quotes dari dia bila dalam kelas "Girls~~ dengar sini tengok sini. Tengok atuk abah cakap" hahaha yeap he called himself as abah which is very cute. Kat dalam kelas dia korang akan belajar how to draw a fashion figure following fashion ways. kepala, bahu kaki ikut ukuran fashion. and after that korang kena buat like 5 projects drawing figure atas illust board saiz A2. Don't worry dia kan ajar step by step and yes it required lot of money since one project dalam almost 20 plus la. and i told ya you guys kena bawak all 5 of the illust board time assessment. I'd been thru all this shit and i know how it feels nak bawak all those stuff. Still jangan pressure sebab kelas ni cepat, cuma nak nasihatkan jangan buat kerja lambat or else prof ill become a tiger. And matching kan colour mounting board and illust board or else marks will be reduced :b

Pattern making 

Pattern making basically benda asas sebelum potong kain, kat sinilah korang akan belajar all the basic knowledge about mesin jahit and jahitan. Kat sinilah korang akan merangkak buat pattern and all. Dr Saemah akan ajar, macam mana nak buat contoh and korang kena buat exactly the same macam dia tunjuk. Kelas ni basically will took 4 hours in a week or to be exact in a day. Tapi korang takkan rasa lama sebab akan focus siapkan pattern in every weeks. Dinasihatkan, jangan malas buat kerja last minute siapkan semua. Nanti kabut and menyusahkan semua orang. Faham? So nanti korang kenalah beli jarum, benang and all sewing requirement. For the one yang tak pernah guna mesin don't worry- slowly you will become  pro just like me. yang penting rajin. Tetas banyak kali tu perkara biasa. There is once, i used a sewing machine sebaris dengan senior and i was too keen nak siapkan biar kemas sampai tetas like almost 5 times i guess(?) and senior tu macam "I tengok banyak kali dah tetas skirt tu"and i was like malu gila ok senior senior part 6 tegur kahkahkah "err hmm tak kemas and salah jahit"*hanya mampu senyum uhuhuhu* And dinasihatkan jugak jaga kertas pattern supaya tak macam belacan kahkahkah sebab i dah pernah kena marah dengan Dr Saemah but the weird thing is, tak rasa malu sbb maybe i want to learn and gain knowledge so buat apa nak malu kalau salah kan? It's for your own goods!

Body Covering

So for this class, idk yang akan ajar sebab dorang selalu kan tukar lecturer untuk kelas ni not like pattern and fashion figure which dah tetap Dr saemah and Prof Shook. Kalau macam I last sem, Cik Anas ajar my batch. Honestly, i was so scared of him. Muka dia garang okay. And dia suka psycho student dia and his fav lines "Cik kan semua nak jadi designer meletops nanti balik kampung boleh cerita dekat semua orang yang u guys jadi fashion designer meletop"which i will cringed everytime he said those words hahaha. But! sebenarnya Cik Anas sangat baik dan kebapaan IF you follow what he told. Dia suruh kau buat 15 sketches kau buatlah, cari material kat luar cari, datang bengkel pagi datang je. just follow sebab if you listened well he will generously help you a lot. Oh wait i foggot nak bagitau kat dalam kelas ni korng akan belajar macam mana dari sketches yang korang lukis to the actual garment. At first sangat terkejut la jugak and cuak bila tau first sem dah kena jahit baju untuk final assessment. I mean like wht?! Cheq ni dah la tak berapa terror dengan mesin jahit lepstu boleh pulak nak kena menjahit baju untuk assessment which will be wear by a model. Kelas ni sangat interesting sbb Cik Anas akan lead one by one sketches till how you should sew your garment. You might heard bad things about him from your senior but honestly he was okay. maybe dulu kot dia garang but now tak sangat. bayangkan dia siap tolong i manually cara nak jahit and ada lecturer ni macam sindir abt why he should manually teach student when he actually just patutnya bagi direction je. Seriously tabik kat dia. And jangan terkejut dia akan tukr ur design banyak kali even the day before assess day. Yeap hahaha. Thank you Cik Anas for last sem, i owned you a lot. Hoping to learn lots of thing from you in future or maybe sooner? :)

History of Costumes

Okay for this subject, it would be liberal mean korang akan belajar fact pasal sejarah fashion dari zaman Mesir sampai nowdays. From one Era to another and funniest things abt this class- seriously i will fallen asleep after like half an hour of lecturer even duduk depan sekali. Eh bukan sebab dia bosan tapi aku yg jenis kuat tidur hahaha nasib baik kuiz dapat paling tinggi so i approved even suka tido still belajar okay uhuhu. Nothing much abt this class actually, dia adelah macam presentation and quiz and just jawab exam kat dewan je nanti thats all. yang penting rajin baca, hafal and faham :)

Fashion CAD

Kelas ni korng kena alert and rajin sebab it required you to powering your adobe skills actually. Korang kena guna Illustration Adobe and Photoshop.sangat fun sebab kena buat own photoshoot lepastu edit macam dekat majalah and then kena buat design corak untuk letak kat figure. it was fun tapi dinasihatkan jangan last minute sebab nanti tak sempat sebab it required lots of times in front of computer. Kalau korang dapat Sir Zaimi, it was okay sebab dia bekas student situ so dia sangat okay boleh la nak tolerate sikit. End of assignment korg akan habis almost 50 plus jugaklah. So jangan boros dapat duit PTPTN okay:)



Electives subject

Untuk elcetives subject korang kena ambil 12 hours of electives kalau nak grad. So for this semester i took TEXTILES EMBELLISHMENT which is not that really hard tapi lecturer dia a bit of cerewet sobs tapi nasib baik dia bagi markah okay. For this sem, kiteorang kena buat embellishment kat barang so i decided to used my jeans shirt sbb banyak kat almari hahaha. Not that really hard tp required a lot of patient and creativity :)

Foundation of Art

Untuk foundation of Art korang kena ambil 3 subject. Satu drawing, sec art history (liberal) and last cultural anthropology (liberal). yang drawing korang kena buat elok sebab lecturer fine art sangat tegas sobs. So buatlah cecantiks okay!

And what's more eh? Oh gambar faculty and bengkel fashion? Sorry takde sebab idk why actually hahaha. Event tahunan ofcourse lah dinner! kali ni dorang punya theme cosplay kahkahkah so i decided nak jadi bini shrek dan dengan gigihnya pergi sewa baju kat Damansara. Gigih gila lol But it was fun la (kot).

About environment? Lecturer? Senior? Don't worry lecturer sangat okay, but then korang kenalah tahu yang every lecturer ada diorang punya style sendiri so korang kena la ikut. kalau tak suka pun ikut tau, lagi afdhal gitu sebab markah dorang yang bagi :) Senior pun sangat okay, kalau korang tak paham tanye je dorang, dorang cool je. and untuk part 1 korang akan kena jadi anak payung untuk part 6. maksudnya? Korang kena tolong senior korang sesikit siapkan final project dorang. So nanti mak payung korang pilihlah and it was good actually sebab dia akan create good bonds among junior and senior :) lagipun bak kata senior, pusing2 pun bila kau dah habis study muka ni jugak korang akan tengok sebab fashion kat malaysia ni bukan besar pun. kalau nak minta kerja ke tolong nanti akan jumpa jugak each other :)

So yeah, sampai sini jelah kot(?) sebab tak tau dah nak cerita apa. But if ada pertanyaan or anything just drop by kat email okay? InsyaAllah segala persoalan akan dijawab :)

Temuduga Ijazah Seni Reka Fesyen : UiTM SHAH ALAM

Salam,

Honestly i was tired with everything. No, bukan aku give up- just aku tengah cuba untuk adapt dengan keadaan baru. Where i stand on my own feet, environment, lecturers and friends. Tak delah teruk sangat. Cuma biasanya kalau untuk budak AC (accounting fakulti) kiteorang more to liberal- went to classes kira kira, dengan lectures and then you went home just revised. But bila kau amek generally an AD (Art and design course) kau kena spent lotsa of times buat research, practices sketches and rajinkan diri know whats happen around you. Jujur aku masih try nak adapt since baru nak masuk 3 minggu kat sini. And duit flow dengan lajunya. And bila dah final sem, thousand of ringgit will be used (gigit jari). So memang kena cari kerja bila sem break i guess. (in my draft for 4 months? i'm ok now don't worry)

p/s: tahukah anda FSSR sangat menguji daya ketahanan mental. Gila kot nak daki pergi kelas even Kolej Seroja dekat je dengan fakulti Art and Design (nangis tepi bucu).

Okay back to the main topic.

Temu duga as an AD student, ok lemme flashback 6 month lepas hahaha sebab honestly plan nak buat right after exam ended but too bad typical syeera is lazy for almost everything.

Okay for your info, usually date interview akan keluar 1 week before the interview date and dia kan buat on weekend tak silap. And if u got lucky dia akan buat sekali lagi for those who can't make it few days after the main date and yeap same venue, Fakulti Art and design uitm shah alam. Naik bukit and then turun bukit (faham? hahaha ) So when in my times time interview, i wore baju kurung and wedges despite of my height (168 cm). Okay time tu semua berkumpul ikut code and daftar. Dorang akan bagi borang untuk isi and everything, don't worry they will assist you just one things jangan lupa bawa all documents needed. Or else it will make everything slower for registration.


After that dorang akan bawak korang dalam 20 people in a group masuk dalam bilik untuk ujian melukis. Kat situ, di nasihatkan untuk ambil the best spot supaya dapat lukis benda yang tak susah since i know tak semua pandai melukis and untuk melukis for 45 minutes perfectly- r u serious?
Dalam bilik tu dorang akan susun meja, kon, kotak, kain and etc whatever they want kat tengah and meja surround those items. So you guys freely decided where to sit and draw from your perspectives. For me, i choose bebetul kotak four in square at the front of me kahkahkah sampai interview tanya "Betul ni kotak exactly that postion?"and i was confidently jawab Äáh saya bebetul pilih kotak that way". So kat situ, korang chill je sebab tak semua orang pandai lukis, jangan sibuk tengok kiri kanan sebab tak semua budak yang datang interview pandai lukis pun uhuhuhu. Eh tapi i pandai ok? But tak hebat, still adelah basic skills.


So after 45 minutes, korang akan dibawa ke tempat interview. yang selalu interview Cik Anas (The guy with fierce face with spectacles (honestly dia baik actually- my fav lect!), Dr Saemah (the one yang pakai tudung ikat kat leher with spectacles, Dr Asliza (With spectacles and fair skin), Miss Princess (free hair) and a few other's. Just to let you know yang fashion department didn't really have lot of lecturer- pusing2 every sem lecturer sama je, so jangan buat hal okay? be nice to everyone :)

Back to the stories, i was choosen to be interviewed by Dr Saemah and Miss Princess, and i brought all my sketches yang gigih dibuat dalam 4 days i think. Penat jugaklah fikir and ada few sketches from past free times works. And they will ask u about yourself  "ïntroduce yourself?"Korang cakap je dalam bahasa Inggeris pasal diri korang. background and everything. Taram je! yang penting confident okay! And then they will ask you why you want this course so badly?

for me, i told her, yang my mom want me to further diploma in professional courses so thats why i took Diploma in acc before even, i always wanted to take design courses since i was 15 years old. I told her about my struggle to finished my diploma on times (which i made it on times!) and that times she told me that this courses is tough, it's required money (lots i told ya), times (yeap honestly you won't be able had times for you own at night) and energy (totally drained). So like everyone else, i told her that i don't mind getting through all this because this is what i really want. I mean for major accounting student changed to arts? I wasted my 2 years kot when i can just graduated on deg in acc for 2 years if sambung but i needed 3 years more if i take deg in fashion.


But who cares, i don't mind it at all- yang penting enjoy belajar which is what i been thru now. I'm so excited and thrilled nak attend every classes even lecturer fashion garang hahaha but dorang sangat caring. Don't worry! So yeah, honesntly time interview sekejap je. masa tu ada yang bawak semua art works jadah kedabak and ada bwak baju tapi aku relax je bawak natang folder adelah dalam belas sketches and Alhamdulillah after a month i got good news! (refer to my prev post if you want to know. If la kahkahkah).

And yes, dah habis satu sem and now nk masuk sem baru and again, Alhamdulillah result sangat best Seriously hard work paid off :) Penat datang bengkel everyday 2 week before assess dari pagi sampai malas. Tipu kalau emiotional tak terganggu. tapi kuasa Allah hebat, bila kita usaha lebih dia bagi kita rasa manis kejayaan lebih. yang penting jaga solat awak okay? Ambil course ni dugaan awak kuat, kau akan rasa that tak cukup masa untuk mkan tidur and solat. Istiqamah ingat Allah selalu :)

And for those new junior, goodluck! If anything, jangan segan tanya thru email ke or drop dm on my insta. I will surely reply if you guys needed help. And bila dah msuk tu tegurlah okay. I might looked so garang and strict but honestly i'm not that really like what you think of. And InsyaAllah akan updated how my first experienced as new student in fashion department. stay tuned!
